Dr. Luchey’s Black-eyed Peas

I grew up on black-eyed peas and it was and continues to be a staple in my family.  If you ask my father what he wants for dinner, 3 or 4 days a week he will say rice and beans.  Not only is it delicious, it goes a long way and carries history for most African American families.  That is why I was so happy when Dr. Luchey decided to make this dish with me.  It brings back so many memories.  Her dish added a little something to it though, the soy sauce.  She says her friend taught her this but it’s a big hit amongst her friends and family!  I can see why, because I fell more in love with a dish that I have love my whole life.  If you are looking for a dish to try with your family, please try this.  Look up the history of this amazing bean, gather your family around and enjoy something that Dr. Luchey and I love so much!
